We are seeking an enthusiastic, scientifically motivated research scientist to join our drug discovery biology group. The candidate will play a significant role in the development and implementation of in vitro cell assays for the evaluation of our small molecule therapeutics to advance early drug discovery projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to team success, ability to work harmoniously within multidisciplinary project teams and with multiple projects simultaneously. The successful candidate will have excellent oral and written communication skills, work well independently and as part of a team, and be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously. You should be comfortable with organizing a high volume of data and sharing the information with your peers and matrix supervisor(s). Employ cell and molecular biology experiments to advance small molecule drug discovery programs.
Execute cell-based assays to identify/validate compound mechanism of action, inform on target and pathway modulation, and inform on cellular response to target inhibition.
Work with multidisciplinary groups (Medicinal Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Pharmacology) to initiate and advance drug discovery programs.
Maintain written records of laboratory experiments, data, and conclusions.
PhD and/or BS/MS degree in Biology or other relevant discipline with 1-5 years’ experience (title will be based on experience) in a research laboratory in an academic and/or industry setting
Significant knowledge of cancer cell signaling and experience in small molecule cancer drug discovery
Well versed in the culture of cancer cell lines (solid, heme), and small molecule mechanism of action studies including target engagement and pathway dissection via cell based assays, proteomics, genomics. Experience in cell-based genetic engineering (RNAi, CRISPR, lentiviral overexpression) and molecular biology (cloning) preferred.
Ability to analyze, interpret and present data in a clear fashion is essential.
